power rangers were so cool. i remember watching the show on KOREAN NATIONAL TELEVISION, KBC2, and the show was dubbed horribly with retro-voice-actors. (i’ve always wondered why the yellow ranger’s mouth didn’t sync…) but do you ever wonder what the actors are doing now? this morning, i woke up to a power rangers related dream, so i’m gonna turn on google search and do a little bit of research. let’s start with the almighty… 1. JASON the RED RANGER - Austin St. John. ew. he’s like not cute anymore. please remind me to keep on working out so i don’t look like that when i’m 35, thanks. next. 2. ZACK the BLACK RANGER - Water Emanuel yes. that’s a mug shot. he was arrested for DUI, driving back from a power rangers convention. here’s the fun part. he was pulling out of a gas station when a popo stopped him, and he PASSED every single sobriety test. but the officer still cuffed him, took him to jail, and booked him. wtf? WAS IT BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK… RANGER?! now that i think, power rangers wasn’t very subtle with the whole racial stereotypes. the black guy playing the black ranger? anyways, the arresting police officer had to go through a series of investigation after that incident. meh. whatever. next. 3. BILLY the BLUE RANGER - David Yost i like him a lot because he had blue eyes and blonde hair. and he turned out to be gay. yes. he was out during the production, and the director/producer/staff called him “faggot” and such which made him quit the show. seriously? didn’t you know any better? you had pretty boys running around in skin-tight spandex in rainbow colors. i’m sure you had more than one gay cast/crew/staff working there and mr. david yost was the only one with a real manly pair of balls. you should be ashamed. next. 4. TRINI the YELLOW RANGER - Thuy Trang she was my favorite one, not because she was the yellow one or the asian one, but because she was a girl who kicked ass without being pink and shit *cough* also, her animal was the sabertooth tiger, which was probably the most realistic creature out of the 5. there isn’t a current picture of hers because she died in a car accident on September 3, 2001.  R.I.P. Thuy Trang next and last. 5. KIMBERLY the PINK RANGER - Amy Jo Johnson can you believe this?! she’s a mom now. oh, and also, her daughter shares her birthday with mine. December 1. i feel like Amy Jo is the only one who’s still a working actor out of the 5. well yeah. so those were the original 5 power rangers, 2010 style… kind of. it feels weird to know that i watched the show almost 20 year ago. i feel so old… -jkim p.s. the green ranger, jason david frank, is still pretty attractive.
